so i know things are pretty wild in the U.S. but there’s some pretty gross things happening in Australia too

• marriage equality for lgbt folks is being determined by a plebiscite i.e. the majority (hetros) are going to vote for the minority to have rights – it’s gonna cost 150 million and isn’t even legally binding
• pauline hanson, one of australia’s most prominant politicians, has advocated for the forced deportation of muslims, asians and lgbt folk and national news is actually debating the legitimacy of her hate speech
• malcolm turnball has scrapped the lgbt safe schools program, an anti-bullying program aimed at educating kids on sexuality and gender and is advocating the scare campaign to prevent it being re-implamented 
• Indigenous Australians (like myself) actually have to campaign to be recognized as the original custodians of the land we have lived on for 40,000 years
• the governemt is detaining political refugees as criminals
