it doesn’t matter if  “you didn’t mean it!” or that “you weren’t being serious!”. i don’t know if people realize this, but threatening someone and making them feel unsafe is a criminal offense, and if they find out who are you and have the evidence to do so, you can literally end up in jail for years. and quite frankly, if you do threaten someone and make them feel unsafe, especially over shipping, you should have to pay some type of consequences for it.

you can be critical about someone’s views or opinions without sending them death threats or telling them to go kill themselves. you can educate someone without the threat of any type of violence. it’s time for people to grow up and realize that fictional ships aren’t worth making people feel unsafe.
