funny story my 5th grade elementary school teacher was the one who figured out i had crazy bad adhd

- Almost every single day I got sent to the principal's office.
- And all the way from 1st grade up until 12th
- And I never understood why they thought that because you listen with your ears not your hands
- And I'd hide under the table with my hands over my ears
- And those teachers were awesome
- Another thing teachers don't understand: autism
- But everyone saw the Alt Ed classes as the ''dumb kids class''
- Even the other students
- For me I always need to be doing something with both my hands and my brain at all times
- I did really well in those classes
- I didn't even remember why but my mom recently mentioned in first grade apparently I would often get sensory overload
- I don't remember much about first grade but there's one thing I remember very clearly
- I got sent to the principal's office so often she usually just sent me; a first grader; to go walk down by myself
- I went from failing so badly I was going to have to repeat a year to straight A student
- In high school I ended up having to transfer to Alt Ed for most of my classes
- My teachers would scold me for ''not paying attention''
- Regular teachers need to learn how to deal with disabilities
- So how much you wanna bet it was because of that
- So I would always draw while listening
- Teachers don't have a damn clue how to handle ADHD
- The American school system is incredibly toxic
- They casually called themselves dumb like it was a fact just because the ''normal'' teaching methods didn't work for them
