Fictional men aren’t real and if ur attraction to men depends on trying to find a man that’s exactly like Howl from Howl’s Moving Castle…then are u really into men
The fact that the gay community needs like 18 app major apps just to fuck or meet someone is very telling. Grindr for white twinks, scruff and growlr for white bears and chasers, jack’d for anyone who isn’t white (and weed), etc… Half of the profiles on Grindr say things like “No fats, fems, or blacks”, “Asians, move along” or “White only please. Not racist, just a preference.” We scream at the world for treating us like outcasts yet we segregate and marginalize ourselves. Don’t ever forget that misogyny, transphobia and racism are just as present in the lgbtq+ community as it is amongst heterosexual people.

If you are fasting tomorrow and you feel yourself getting sick, eat something.
If you are fasting tomorrow and you are so light-headed you can’t stand up: drink some water.
If you are fasting tomorrow and you take meds regularly, take them and the water you need to wash them down.
Yom Kippur is about reflection, atoning, and becoming a better person. Fasting is meant to take away distractions from that, and to keep us mindful for the rest of the year. It’s not meant for you to get to the point where you can’t make it through the day.
Like a lot of mizvot, fasting isn’t the destination — it’s the guide rail. Repentance is the observance of the day, not fasting. And to keep yourself healthy and alive and functional is the most important commandment, taking precedence over any other. There are many ways to reflect, to stay mindful, to atone, to filter the past year and approach the next; if you aren’t able to do it with your body, you can still do so with your heart.
Shana tova, all. May you be inscribed in the Book of Life.
How do people with good eyesight go to sleep? When I’m done with the day I take my glasses off and the world is suddenly a pleasant blur of the most generously monet filter of vision degradation and it’s like. We’re done. You don’t gotta see anything anymore. You try sleeping with perfect eyes??? Seeing stuff????? Sad. Shitty eyesight uncorrected is half a dream state already where you did lose your fucking glasses and you won’t find them till morn but it don’t fucking matter till morn do it
Also people with contacts are strong because we casually remove things from our eyeballs, people with 20/20 vision are coddled and weak and they will not survive when the eyeball touching winter comes
Ok so I have a story. I worked Fantasyland (Dumbo) at Magic Kingdom. We had a girl transfer from Pirates of the Caribbean. And she told me the most amazing story.
So Pirates is down (shocking) And this particular boat is stopped at the first big scene, Where Barbosa is on the ship yelling for Jack Sparrow.
Anyway the boat has been stopped for about 15 minutes at this point, and there’s a couple sitting alone in the back. So the guy decides that nothing gets him in a better mood than the smell of water that hasn’t been changed in roughly 50 years, and convinces his girlfriend to blow him.
Now this girl is in the booth, along with the coordinator, watching this go down. Literally. There’s not much they can do to stop it at this point, other than notify security. Then another problem arises. The guy finishes, and the girl makes the motion to spit.
In. The. Fucking. Water.
Now if that load is released into the water, thats an automatic biohazard, and the ride is shut down for weeks. The water is removed, the ride path is scrubbed, along with the ride vehicles, and then new water is brought in. Costing the company thousands of dollara and pissed off tourists. The worst combination on this earth.
Panicking at this predicament, the coordinator grabs the mic in the control booth and says:
“Spitting is for quitters.”
This echoes over the bitching of guests and 50 year old audio of pirates commiting various crimes.
The look on this woman’s face was priceless. She gazes up, as if Walt himself commanded her from the grave, and swallows.
I’m told the ride started 5 minutes later and the couple ran out from the exit queue as fast as they could.
And this is why you dont fuck at Disney. Because cast members will call you out and it will be the highlight of our day.
so this might seem dumb but its helped a lot instead of saying “i wanna die” in normal conversation or like in my head in response to minor inconveniences like even as a joke, saying “i wanna go to bed” has like. improved my life tenfold no joke
I always find it so funny when people bitch about ‘forced diversity’.
because, like, once you work retail you start to see just how different everybody is.
for example, the other day I greeted a woman I was ringing up and started asking her the usual questions we’re supposed to ask (if they have a rewards card, etc) and she made a gesture pointing to her ear and mouthed ‘I’m deaf’.
and I was just like ‘Oh’, and so I skipped over the questions and just gave her a nice smile instead of the usual schpiel we’re supposed to give. she thanked me in sign language and smiled back before walking away.
and that’s just one tiny example. she was just one customer of hundreds that shift. that’s not even mentioning all the other types of people I ring in a day, of all ages, body sizes, races/skin colors, and gender expression.
it’s like…that’s how the world is.
when people say having diversity in a fictional universe seems ‘false’ or ‘forced’, that says to me that they must exist in a very homogenous, sheltered environment. because even working for a company that has a rather disproportionately-high white middle-class customer demographic, I still see more diversity on any given day than I tend to ever see in books and movies and TV shows.
it’s just kind of laughable to me when people say a movie/book/franchise has “too much” diversity. because there’s no such thing.
When they say diversity is being ‘forced’ they are saying “It’s bad enough I have to tolerate your existence here in this world. I don’t want to have to ever think about you in a fictional one.”
