Whenever anybody gets on how they think cats are horrible because they don’t shower you with easy-to-read physical affection I’m left wondering how much respect or understanding they can possibly have for fellow human beings who don’t all fit their exacting social standards.
There’s something to be said for the way a rescue animal looks at you. It’s like they know or sense what you’ve done. Even though they’ll never be able to say it I feel as if they make up for it with that look.
concept: I’m rich enough to buy art from freelance artists, commission artists to draw my ocs and i can frame them and put them up on my wall.
concept: all the art is done in the style of fancy portraiture and all the frames are gilt. when guests come to my manor i introduce them to my OCs as if my OCs were actual members of my family.
‘did you say he was a starship captain?’ my guests may enquire timorously.
‘yes,’ i will say, sipping my cognac. ‘a very gay one.’
Friendly reminder that instead of deleting captions on posts to fit your aesthetic needs, find a theme that has the option to hide captions on photo posts. Most themes I come across have the option to do so but if you don’t want to change your theme or you find a theme that you like that doesn’t have the option to remove captions… look in your code for {block:photo} and somewhere close to that should be something along the lines of {block:caption} {caption} {/block:caption} , delete everything within the opening and closing caption caption blocks. Do the same for {block:photoset}
Now you can have a pretty blog without captions and you’re not taking away credit from the creator :)))
this is your yearly reminder that animals are not toys. they are a huge commitment. even small pets like hamsters and fish can be expensive and require a lot of work. if you’re planning to get someone a pet as a gift this holiday season, please only do so if you’re 100% sure that they are willing and able to take responsibility for the well-being of a living thing, potentially for years or even decades.
please go to “General Settings” then to “Dashboard Preferences” and turn off “Best Stuff First”. This is killing artist exposure! Please, please, PLEASE, turn it off if you really do love the artists you follow! You’d be helping us so much! Please reblog this so that more people may know!
