YOU ARE LITERALLY THE WORST PERSON
Why would you teach your child to be rude and ungrateful. Literally why.
Fun fact: My mom taught me to thank EVERYONE. I thank the bus driver, I thank the guy at the Taco Bell drive-through window…I THANK THE TACO BELL MACHINE THE PERSON TALKS THROUGH. The sad thing is…almost everyone I know thinks this is weird. I’ve had people look at me funny because I thank the bus driver for being there because if he wasn’t I couldn’t get home safely. My friends question me because I’m thanking Taco-Bell guy because where else am I going to get cheap, crappy, delicious food for 3 drunk ass people at 2am?
It’s called being a human being. Try it.
If someone does something, anything from doing dishes to picking up something you dropped to holding the door for you, you say thank you. They did something for you they didn’t have to so they deserve a thank you. It’s called appreciating the community you live in and the people around you.
I think a big part of why I read way more fanfiction than books is that there’s just a hell of a lot less exposition
the first 10 pages of most books are always “these are the main characters and here’s some background on each of them and this is the setting etc etc” and it’s such a fucking hassle getting to the plot sometimes
fanfic is just like “fuck it you know all of this already let’s go”
That’s a really good point.
This is also why fanfiction is easier to write than original fiction.
Y’all gotta realize that some of us are weary because of the direct violence that comes with this presidency. Sure he can’t do x,y,z, but that’s not going to stop his supporters from harassing, murdering and discriminating against minorities. His election has given them the thumbs up to be openly prejudiced at a greater amplitude. The direct threat comes from his supporters, and that’s what’s terrifying. These people are all around us in positions of power and education. Their confidence in their bigotry has been restored and multiplied and that is extremely worrisome.
