as a vet tech student you should understand that sheep literally need to be sheared. you literally have to take their wool. that’s how it works. they will grow too much wool and overheat.
sheep don’t care what you do with their sheered wool. now you’re just being ridiculous. wool can be used to make things like warm clothing and blankets, and it’s just stupid to get rid of a very useful resource.
Reminds me of Shrek the Sheep that got away from shearing for 6 years.
His wool alone weighed a whopping 27kg (around 60lbs?). And no, the wool is not healthy. He was in danger of heatstroke every year. And the vet in NZ also thought if Shrek were to turn turtle and he could not get up from the sheer bulk of that wool.

And sheep are so happy when they’re sheared, they feel all light and cool and even the older ewes will jump around, it’s adorable
I am embarrassed for a vet tech student that doesn’t not understand that the concept of consent from animals doesn’t exist because the majority of them are not capable of the complex thought that is required for consent to be priority.
I think that’s one of the thing i hate most about veganism, is the idea that there’s some form of sin or abuse that animals have become co-dependent or ARE co-dependent on having these resources taken from them, like for real, we need to take wool, we need to kill smaller animals to feed bigger and different animals, we need to collect honey to stimulate the bee population and so on, that’s a fact no matter what you wanna pin it on.
